Indian healing clay has been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask or hair cleaner and conditioner. Throughout history the use of clay, specifically bentonite, is well documented. There are many uses for clays including facials, acne, body wraps, clay baths, foot soaks, as well as chilled clay for knee packs and insect bites. It can draw the toxins out of the skin and is very beneficial for cleaning and renewing.

1. Use plastic bag for mixing, along with plastic stirring spoon. DO NOT use metal utensil bentonite acts as a magnet for all the positive charged toxins, which is why it's such a great detox clay.  However, by using metal with bentonite clay, it will pull all the positive charges from the metal, which will render the clay completely useless.

2. Put 3 spoons full of powder in to the bag, along with 2 spoons of apple cider vinegar, mix to a paste. Add more if needed, 2:1 ratio of powder to liquid.

3. Keep this mixture away from your eyes, prepare your face mask 15-30 minutes before use and the apple cider vinegar will not be as intense.

4. Apply paste onto face and hair and work into the hair down to the scalp, let sit for 15 minutes and rinse.

  • Immediately after use, your skin will be a little red, but don't be alarmed. This is normal and will fade within the hour, leaving your skin with a youthful glow.
